A Semester Ends

We have to leave the todays
which we have considered tomorrows before
and we just have to accept that we're just simply
passers-by

Unless we go with the flow
dance with the music
attune ourselves to life's rhythms
and feel the overwhelming presence
of the sun, the wind, the trees
as well as the chirping of the birds

Unless we listen to the gentle
whispers of the Beloved Paraclete
and then allow its movement
in the deserts and parched
pavements of our souls

then there will no more be days,
times or places that we can go
every thing will be at a standstill
and emptiness will be
all that is . . .

just like when we simply
academicize or commodify education
& de-humanize students
&  train teachers for
intellectual constipation
& hypocritical castration

Waiting By The Tomb

could've been another Magdalene
not exactly maybe of the way she'd been
but no less the time of waiting

from darkness to light
a new dawn of morning hope
for those who've been lost

lost away from Jerusalem
like those towards Emmaus
yet finding along the way
the Risen One
when their hearts were set on fire
blazing with the joy of everlasting life

the roads here on earth
many and so strange are they
bring about tastes, sounds and sights
alluring maybe tempting
confusing yet not fulfilling

drinks satiate not the thirst
the hunger of this broken flesh
the only words that we long to hear
that He is right here at last
alive to reign forever for and with us

Passing By

time flies so fast
events go by in a blur
rarely stoppin' to ever feel
if it's real or reel

bloggin' yeah right
but not quite like this
these are simply verses
of hundred passers
down memory lane
or this cyberhighway

just woke up
looked into a mirror
a Rip Van Winkle
of Catskill Mountain

i might have played
with little guys
and they gave me wine
that made me forget
twas once upon a time

people came then gone
i could've made them stay
but in a flash, they're far & away

but where or when am I
is not what matters now
coz if God is with me
i live right here . . . eternity
